Shooting reported near TIAA Bank Field after Florida-Georgia game

The Jacksonville Sherriffs Office has responded to a shooting near Ashley Street and A. Philip Randolph Blvd, just blocks away from where fans were exiting the Florida - Georgia football game at  TIAA Bank Field, and where people were all still tailgating.

Police are reporting that the shooting was not a threat to the public, and the victim suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

This shooting is the second to occur within a week, so close to TIAA Bank Stadium. The shooting prompted JSO to add additional security measures, and have more than 650 officers scheduled to patrol the stadium and surrounding neighborhoods.
