Dale Earnhardt, Jr. 'Center Punched a Tree' in Car During Winter Storm

Even Dale Earnhardt, Jr. loses control of his car sometimes.

The NASCAR great took to Twitter to share details on an icy incident that took place on the road this week in snow-covered North Carolina.

“NC stay off the roads today/tonight. 5 minutes after helping these folks,” Dale tweeted of a car that had slid off the road, “I center punched a pine tree. All good. Probably just needs a new alignment.”

But he assured fans he hadn’t exactly crashed his car.

“Getting all kinds of text that I was in a traffic accident today,” he added in a subsequent tweet. “I just scratched my winch on the trunk of a pine. No crash. Just driving too fast in the snow. Being a bit of a fool.”

Winter Storm Inga has ravaged North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana and many parts of the Southeast.

The State Highway Patrol reports 500 crashes took place on roads Wednesday morning (Jan. 16) alone.
