Morgan Wallen Jokes About Mug Shot After Public Intoxication Arrest

Morgan Wallen shared a smiley new photo with fans on his Instagram Story so they have something else to look at other than his recently-released mug shot after being arrested outside a Nashville bar on Saturday (May 23).

Wearing a white t-shirt and a black baseball cap, Wallen snapped a selfie and included the caption, "Just wanted another pic out there that's not my mugshot lol."

Wallen's mug shot was first released by Metro Nashville Police and quickly shared by several news outlets including WKRN.

Wallen was arrested on public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges after being kicked out of Kid Rock's Honky Tonk on Broadway. The "More Than My Hometown" singer had reportedly kicked around glass items inside the music venue before being escorted out by security. Police reported that Wallen also had a strong odor of alcohol and he was arrested due to "being intoxicated in public, unable to take care of himself, and the reasonable likelihood the offense would continue."

On Sunday (May 24), Wallen took to social media to explain his arrest before issuing a public apology to fans and commending police for how they handled the embarrassing situation.

"Hey y’all just wanted to clear the air," Wallen said. "I went out downtown last night with a few old friends. After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other. We didn't mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected."

He concluded, "Thank you to the local authorities for being so professional and doing their job with class. Love y’all."
