Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson Discovers Adult Daughter From Past Affair

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson made a shocking revelation about his family.

It was recently revealed that the religious patriarch, who has four known children — sons Al, Jep, Willie, and Jase — not only had an affair but is also the father to an adult daughter. As explained during Thursday’s (May 28) episode of Unashamed, Al recalled receiving a letter from a 45-year-old woman named Phyliss claiming to be his sister.

"So basically, it was from a woman who said that by a DNA search, she thinks that dad might be her dad," said Al, admitting he’d originally “dismissed" the letter because Phyliss’ birthday was after the time Phil had become a Christian in the 1970s. However, Phil, who has been married to wife Kay since 1966, has confessed to being unfaithful before devoting himself to Jesus — and it appears Phyliss was actually born just before then.

"Well once we get into that and start looking at it a little more deeply, I'm like, 'Oh woah, woah... there might be something to this,'" Al said, to which Jase added, "We both concluded, this is not one of those frivolous things we've got.”

Although Al wasn’t convinced by Phyliss’ claim, he said, "I started thinking, there's a 45-year-old woman out there who doesn't know who her dad is, and she's looking. And I thought, even if it's not dad, she needs to know it's not dad."

Eventually, Al informed his parents and Phil agreed to take a DNA test, which Al said was a “99.9 percent match.”

Phil was unabashed by the news of his parentage. "We know that in all things — in all things — even sin, God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purpose," he said, revealing that he recently met his daughter, who will also appear in an upcoming episode of the podcast.

"It's a pretty cool explanation of redemption, reconciliation, love," added Phil. "As it turns out, 45 years, you have a daughter that you don't know about, and she has a father she doesn't know about. 45 years that doesn't sound like very long but you say, that's a while. So finally, after all those years, we come together."
