Vote Miami wants you to get to know the candidates running for Supervisor of Elections in the upcoming November election.

Miami-Dade's Elections Department will become an independent agency under Florida’s Constitution in 2025.

The Miami Foundation is hosting a series of virtual candidate forums and tonight will feature candidates running for Miami-Dade's new voter-chosen Supervisor of Elections.

As the November election approaches, voters will hear from candidates running to be Miami-Dade's new voter-chosen Supervisor of Elections in an online forum tonight. Vote Miami is hosting the event which begins at 7 tonight. Click here to watch the live forum from your couch or car.

Miami-Dade is the only Florida county with an appointed elections supervisor, but a 2018 amendment to the state constitution requires voters to elect the supervisor starting in 2024.

Vote Miami says, "The online forum will help voters learn more about each candidate's approach to the office because local elections directly impact their daily lives."

The 2024 Primary Election is August 20, 2024. Early voting period will be August 5 through August 18, 2024. July 22 is the deadline to be registered to vote in next month’s Primary Election.
