Apple just announced its newest operating system, iOS 11 slated for this fall. And developers hope the "Do Not Disturb While Driving" mode will keep users safe behind the wheel. Once the feature is turned on, your iPhone can sense when you're driving and mute notifications and the screen will stay dark. That way, you won't be tempted to look down at your phone or respond to a message when your eyes should be on the road.
Most of the people in your phone will get an auto reply of "I'll see your message when I get where I'm going", according to USA Today. At least 46 states ban texting while driving. Texting and driving has lead to a jump in road fatalities. To those who say it's no big deal to look at their phone for a quick five seconds; according to USA Today, that's like driving the length of an entire football field blindfolded! Let's hope the new update keeps people safe!
