Eat & Drink Too Much Last Week? 5 Steps

4th of July was soooo tempting. If your work clothes felt a little tight today after indulging in a few too many appetizers, deserts, boozy drinks, and seconds of everything, here are a few steps to get back on track.

1.  Drink Water

1. You don’t have to drink 8 glasses of water to be hydrated, but experts say the best way to make sure you’re getting enough H2O is to check your urine.  If it’s pale yellow then your good, if it’s dark yellow, keep drinking.

Kind of like the rules of margaritas. The lighter they are, the better they are! Ooh I got sidetracked. Drink water, not margaritas.

2. Eat Colorful Fruits and Veggies

Eat lots of color!. Sorry, all that mustard and ketchup you had over the holiday doesn't count. Eat fruits and veggies with every meal, they're made up of as much as 90% water and fiber that will keep you full longer.

3. Load up on Protein too

Lean protein like poultry, fish, port tenderloin, beans, lentils, nuts and protein rich grains like quinoa.

4.  Cut back on alcohol

It's empty calories and health guidelines suggest 2 drinks per guy and 1 drink per woman.

Ooh..I think that means I can still have that delicious beer at Green Bench Brewery...just one less than I did over the weekend!

5. Get Outside!

Find time to go outside-take a walk, gardening and yoga and getting light and greenery outside help your emotional and physical state.

Not sure if these tips will work for this guy. 74 hot dogs in 10 minutes requires a lot of detoxing!
