What You Can and Can't Do With New Florida Texting Law

Starting Monday, Florida's law enforcement officers can pull you over for suspected texting and driving. Some areas are just handing out warnings at first, but who wants to find out the hard way?

Here's what you can and can't do:

If you're in a school or work zone, you're not allowed to pick up your phone at all, which means speak to text functions aren't allowed there.

TEXT WHILE IN TRAFFIC - NO

TEXT AT A STOP SIGN - NO

TEXT AT RED LIGHTS - YES. You're technically allowed to because your car is stopped (not in school or work zones)

USE SOCIAL MEDIA - NO

USE GPS - YES but not in your hand in a school or work zone

ANSWER A PHONE CALL - YES

PLAY GAMES ON YOUR PHONE -NO

RECEIVE A TEXT - YES you just can't send them

SELECTING A SONG -YES but not in hands free zones
