Tampa St. Jude Patient Gives Us All Hope

The Grimsley family from Brandon, Florida, came by and shared their story of hope and they are inspiring others by showing how St. Jude Children's Research Hospital helped their son Caleb.

James and Christina had moved from Jacksonville, Florida to the Tampa area to be closer to family. Their son, Caleb, was 3 years old when he had a seizure. A day later, he had an operation at the hospital to remove a brain tumor. Two weeks later, they were told he had a rare form of cancer and that it was an aggressive cancer. And they were told this cancer had a 10% survival rate.

They went online to google any other solutions and their family suggested they look into St. Jude Children's Hospital. James called the St. Jude Children's Hospital and a doctor called them back and spent 60 minutes on the phone with them and gave them an 80% survival rate for this type of cancer.

They packed their family up, including Caleb's brother, and moved to Memphis in 4 days!

The Grimsley family spent a year at St. Jude, and Christina blogged every day to keep her family and friends informed. She also says it's been very therapeutic! Check it out to follow the Grimsley family journey here.

They're back in Tampa and finishing up treatment using the protocol from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. That's what's so great about St. Jude, they freely share all of their research with all hospitals and all over the world. They won't quit until there is no more cancer!
