Janelle Branowner in Longboat Key noticed that the canals in her neighborhood were full of fins, so she took out her phone and took some video of the sharks swimming in her backyard.
This isn't something that usually happens and Dr. Hueter, the chief scientist at Ocearch says that "they are seeking refuge from red tide which could kill them".

Here's some video from 3 years ago when I spotted a shark swimming in our beautiful Tampa Bay while paddle boarding. Clean waters keep our ecosystem thriving so they won't need to take refuge in the canals.
