The Tampa Bay Buccaneers became the first NFL football team to start a program to name a Coach of the Week award for High School Girls Flag Football.
Darcie Glazer Kassewitz is one of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-owners and she's behind some great ideas to get women more involved in the sport of football. And since Florida has a lot of the nation's top girls flag football programs this is such a great idea!
Looks like voting is on the Buccaneers.com website every week and winning coaches will receive a $2,000 grant from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation and coaching gear from Nike.
The Bucs are committed to helping women enter into the field of football, whether it's on or off the field. They launched a program helping women pursue careers in football and they are also awarding a Football scholarship.
Sounds like the Buccaneers are winning in so many ways!
