Miami-Dade's Superintendent Lays Out Reopening Plan

School bells could soon be ringing in Miami-Dade. Superintendent Alberto Carvalho is recommending a staggered approach to the reopening of schools beginning this month. He says pre-K-through-1st grade can return to their classrooms September 30th, the rest of the elementary students and those in transition grades like students going into middle school can return October 5th. Students in grades 7,8,11 and 12 can return October 7th. Miami-Dade will have teacher planning days on Monday, September 28th and Tuesday September 29th to give teachers time to prepare their classrooms. The school board is expected to vote on this plan by tonight.
