A new skating rink could be on its way to Regency

Regency is way overdue for a much needed upgrade, but all that is changing with new renovations and business coming to the Regency Court Shopping Center. No more having to drive to Mandarin or Orange Park just to roller skate, because a new skating rink is also coming to the shopping center.

Sk8CityJAx is planning on opening a 29,700-square-foot skating rink, in addition to the venue including an arcade, party rooms, bumper cars and more according to the Jax Daily Record.

Terry Harris, a graduate of Jean Ribault High School on Jacksonville's north side says the rink will be most of the venue, but more entertainment options could be added later such as a stage and batting cages. With plans for a DJ, adult skate night, lasers and more, this might be the most exciting thing to hit Regency in a long time.

There is also an ax-throwing venue and trampoline park in the plaza being built as well, all with hopes of opening very soon after the intended Family Fun Center slated for the location was not completed.
