This year marks the 30 year anniversary of the release of the movie, Dirty Dancing. The film, starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, is considered a classic.
So, the best thing to do with a classic? Remake it, of course, so you can screw it up.
The new movie will air on TV, not in theaters, and stars Abigail Breslin in the role of Baby. Other familiar names in the cast include Debra Messing, Nicole Sherzinger, Sarah Hyland, Katey Sagal and Billy Dee Williams.
The part of bad boy dancer, Johnny Castle, is being played by newcomer Colt Prattes.
The film will air on ABC on May 24th at 8:00.
It looks EXACTLY like the original, which begs the question... why remake it?
