After months away from her son while she was serving her country, she knew she wanted to do something special for her homecoming

After a seven-month deployment, Georgina Walton, a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, surprised her son in the best way. The military mom came to her six-year-old son Brody Floyd’s baseball game in Charleston, South Carolina, where he was throwing the first pitch and she came out to greet him.Read more: 

Walton worked it out with her son’s coaches so he could pitch first and they kept the whole thing a surprise. After months away from her son while she was serving her country, she knew she wanted to do something special for her homecoming.

“He was super wide-eyed. He couldn’t believe it,” Walton says of their reunion. “He just wrapped his arms around me and hugged me for a long time. It was exciting but very emotional. I felt like I was gone forever. I got to see him and give him a kiss. I’d been waiting for that.”
