The original Captain Kirk, William Shatner, will travel to space today, on a Blue Origins flight. Blue Origins is the private spaceflight company, founded by Jeff Bezos.
William Shatner is an actor, who originated the character of Captain Kirk, from the Star Trek TV show, back in 1966. He played Captain Kirk on the show and in some Star Trek movies.
Today, the 90-year-old actor will fly to the edge of space with three other crew members aboard.
It seems that maybe Shatner knew one day he'd be going to space, because back in 1978, he performed Elton John's "Rocket Man" for some show... not sure what it was. But we hope you enjoy this as much as we do.
