Next year we are going to pair our 1,000th Warrior with a Service Dog and we are so proud of accomplishing this in the 12 (+ish) years since we started in 2011. While we are hitting this major milestone soon, we still have more than 300 veterans waiting right now to be paired with a service dog and so many veterans who have yet to learn that we even exist or that a Service Dog may be a great alternative for them to take back control of their life and not let it be ruled by their PTSD.
Determined to end veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma. With the majority of dogs being rescues, this innovative program allows the K9/Warrior team to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery.
