THE 8TH ANNUAL MCKENZIE’S RUN

RUN OR WALK TO SUPPORT LOCAL AND GLOBAL EFFORTS AT THE 8TH ANNUAL MCKENZIE’S RUN

A MORNING OF FITNESS AND FUN ACTIVITIES FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY

The McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation is excited to announce that its annual 5K run/walk and one-mile fun run will take place on November 18 at EverBank Field.

This year’s Run will finish inside EverBank Field and participants will get the unique opportunity to see themselves cross the finish line on the massive video boards. The one-mile fun run begins at 9:30 a.m., and the 5K at 10:00 a.m.

The Foundation has created a new tradition by selecting a young person who embodies its mission, helping young people recognize their full potential, to serve as McKenzie’s Run Captain. Singer, Songwriter, and Jacksonville native, Rion Paige, will lead the start of this year’s Run.

Immediately following McKenzie’s Run there will be a celebration including live music, face painting, games, food trucks, refreshments, and autographs with Jaxson de Ville and the ROAR Cheerleaders.

Participants can run or walk in this family-friendly event. By signing up with a team of three or more people, the cost of registration is only $15 per person. Runners, walkers, and sideline supporters can register for the event and learn more at mckenziesrun.org.

Far more than a Run, this annual all-ages event benefits The McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people to discover their purpose in an increasingly complex and challenging world. Locally, the Foundation created McKenzie’s Academic Resource Centers (MARCs) to empower youth through education and build a bridge between the classroom and the community. Globally, the Foundation built three homes at the Okoa Refuge Orphanage in Uganda, Africa, and in partnership with Okoa Refuge, provides medical care, food, shelter, education, and love to over 150 girls, boys, and infants. As of today, the Foundation has invested over $4 Million to help young people reach their full potential through our local and global initiatives. The 2017 McKenzie’s Run is sponsored by EverBank, TIAA, The Jaguars Foundation, The Players Championship, Jacksonville Moms Blog, and Action News Jax.
