Carrie Underwood's 'The Champion' Goes No. 1 on iTunes

Carrie Underwood’s new song is a champion on the charts.

On the first day of its release, “The Champion,” the song the country megastar wrote and released for Super Bowl LII, charted at the top spot on iTunes’ all-genre chart.

Beating out songs from Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello and others, Carrie took to social media to react.

“Wow, so grateful!! Thank you,” she wrote, tagging co-writers Jim Jonsin, Brett James, Chris DeStefano and Ludacris.

The voice of the NFL’s Sunday Night Football anthem “Oh, Sunday Night” also specifically thanked Ludacris for his contribution to “The Champion.”

“Thank YOU for taking this song to another level! You’re amazing!!!” Carrie wrote.

She is currently in the studio working on more new music for her forthcoming sixth studio album.
