Farah & Farah Launches Safe Driving Campaign as the ‘100 Deadliest Days’ Approach.
Florida-based law firm’s ‘Summer Crash Course’ increases driving safety awareness between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
With many COVID-19 restrictions easing, summer travel is expected to be at an all-time high – meaning the ‘100 Deadliest Days’ between Memorial and Labor Day will be even more deadly for teen drivers and all motorists. To help educate the public and lower accident numbers, leading Florida law firm Farah & Farah is launching a “Summer Crash Course” to increase public awareness of this local and statewide public safety issue. The firm will be sharing an array of driver safety topics, statistics, and tips with special focuses on hit and runs, rideshare accidents, big-rig safety, teen driving and more.
Farah & Farah’s Summer Crash Course campaign will run from now through August 27, and will include downloadable/shareable infographics, animated videos, legal advice, and more. Florida residents are encouraged to follow along on the firm's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts, and at Farahandfarah.com. The first segment on the 100 Deadliest Days can be found at Farahandfarah.com/blog. Jacksonville’s coastal location and commercial center make it a crossroads of two major interstates, and it’s especially important for drivers in this northeast Florida transportation hub to understand the dangers of the road and how to avoid them. According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles:
● Preliminary data shows that hit-and-runs make up almost 1 in 3 car accidents (31%) in Duval County so far this year
● Nearly 40% of all Duval County car accidents in 2021 have resulted in injury or fatality
● The agency’s Top 10 Teen Driver Citations dashboard shows that in 2019, more than 4,800 citations were given to Duval County teens for dangerous driving. The majority of these were for speeding and careless driving, two sure paths to accidents.
With more individuals getting vaccinated and restrictions being lifted, Florida’s emergence from the pandemic means there’s reason to expect a busier travel season as people are eager to experience normalcy and once again gather with family and friends. AAA recently reported that 34 million Americans plan to take road trips this Memorial Day weekend, a 52% jump from last year.
