Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s resident dolphin picks Cincinnati Bengals

Nicholas, a rescue bottlenose dolphin at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, predicted the Cincinnati Bengals will walk away with the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the Super Bowl LVI game on Sunday, Feb. 13.

On Thursday, February 10, 2022, Nick was presented with two signs —one with the logo of the Cincinnati Bengals and one with the Los Angeles Rams — at one of his underwater viewing windows. A member from his Animal Care team asked Nick to make a choice from poolside. He selected the winning team by swimming to and touching the sign featuring the Bengals logo with his rostrum. Nick was cheered on by Billie, one of Team Ruff's players in the highly anticipated Puppy Bowl XVII. Billie is a rescue, like Nicholas, and is participating in the Puppy Bowl to raise awareness for pet adoption and rescue facilities.

Nicholas has a talent for making predictions for dozens of professional sporting events. He’s correctly guessed the winning team in seven of his last nine picks! This is his sixth Super Bowl prediction
