List Of Shelters In Northeast Florida & Southeast Georgia

The worst impacts of Hurricane Milton are expected on the First Cast Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

If you are in need of seeking shelter, here is a list of locations in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia that are open and will be opening.

St. Johns County Shelters open Wednesday 8am

Residents who require transportation assistance to a storm shelter should call the Emergency Management Citizen Information Hotline at 904-824-5550

  • Freedom Crossing Academy: 1365 Shetland Drive (Special and medical needs shelter)
  • South Woods Elementary School: 4750 State Road 206 W. (Pet-friendly shelter)
  • Pedro Menendez High School: 600 State Road 206 W. (General population)

Putnam County Shelters are opening Tuesday at 6 p.m.

  • Ochwilla Elementary, pet friendly: 299 State Road 21, Hawthorne
  • Kelley Smith Elementary, special needs: 141 Kelley Smith School Road, Palatka
  • Jenkins Elementary: 251 County Road 315, Interlachen
  • Browning-Pearce Elementary: 100 Bear Boulevard, San Mateo
  • Middleton-Burney Elementary: 1020 Huntington Road, Crescent City

Duval County Shelters opening Wednesday at 8 a.m.

  • Arlington Middle School: 8141 Lone Star Road
  • Atlantic Coast High School, special medical needs, pet friendly: 9735 R. G. Skinner Parkway
  • Chaffee Trail Elementary: 11400 Sam Caruso Way
  • Landmark Middle School, pet friendly: 101 Kernan Boulevard North
  • LaVilla: 501 N. Davis Street
  • The Legends Center, special medical needs, pet friendly: 5130 Soutel Drive

Clay County shelters opening Wednesday at 6 p.m.

  • Orange Park High, pet friendly: 300 Kingsley Ave, Orange Park
  • Keystone Elementary, pet friendly: 335 SW Pecan St, Keystone Heights
  • Lake Asbury Junior High, special needs: 2851 Sandridge Rd, Green Cove Springs
