Country 99.1 WQIK

Join Chumley, John, Megan and Froggy, on air on WQIK every morning from 5AM through 10AM!

About Chumley:

Chumley grew up a certified military brat the son of an Air Force

major who moved so often he basically had a frequent - flyer card for

public schools. Thirteen schools later, he landed in Gainesville at age 10,

became a die - hard Florida Gators fan (Go Gators!), and eventually made

his way to Panama City. That’s where he discovered radio in 1990 and

realized, “Wait… you mean I can talk loudly, and people won’t tell me to

shush?” In 1998, he moved to Jacksonville and found his home. "I love

Jacksonville! We have a beach. It's a big city with small town kindness."

When he’s off the mic, Chumley is out living peak Florida life, fishing,

beach - hopping, exploring springs, and pretending sunscreen SPF

numbers don’t apply to him. He’s a concert junkie, a foodie who hunts

down new restaurants like it’s a competitive sport, and the household

chef because he insists he’s the only one who can properly sear anything.

He’s proudly married and loves his wife, daughter, and dog equally…

though only one of them actually listens . Every morning he is honored to

wake this city up with his friends John Megan and Froggy. Life is better

with friends !

About Froggy:

I’ve worked at various radio stations throughout Florida since 1994. I started at WFLZ – 933FLZ Tampa Bay…moved to WHYI – Y100 Miami in 2002. I’ve been a co-host on the nationally syndicated Elvis Duran Morning Show since 2006…17 years! My love for country music has led me to be the Program Director and afternoon drive personality on one of the longest running country radio stations in America.

During my free time I enjoy NFL and college football (huge Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Florida Gators fan) and I’m a complete golf fanatic. I host Wednesdays on the Stripe Show Podcast…a podcast all about golf. I’ve been married to my wife wonderful Lisa for over 20 years, and we have a son Caden…and two dogs. I love living in Jax…and being able to work in many great cities across the US!

Another fun (or not so fun) fact about me is that I live with a rare, chronic disease called acromegaly. I was diagnosed in 2010 and continue to live with it today. In 2020 I survived a brain aneurysm. I do all I can to advocate for both conditions.

About John:

I am a native Jacksonvillian and have been at WQIK for 36 years! Outside of the fun I get to have as part of The Big Show, I love hanging out with my wife & family; cooking, walking the beach or catching a basketball game. My partial list of ‘doesn’t get better than this’: Friday nights at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville; late night drives down A1A in the summertime; Derek Trucks playing slide guitar; Carrie Underwood singing “How Great Thou Art,” and making my wife smile.

When I’m not driving to and from Tallahassee for Seminoles games, I also enjoy writing songs, Bible studies, and I have written a book on music from Jacksonville.

About Megan:

Megan Terry is an Army veteran, storyteller, and morning radio personality in Jacksonville who believes everyone has a story worth telling. Originally from Kansas City, she holds a bachelor's degree in Communication and a master's degree in Marketing. Known for her curiosity, quick wit, and genuine personality, Megan loves discovering the people and places that make life interesting.

When she's not in the studio, you'll find her exploring the outdoors, volunteering with the American Red Cross, ghost hunting with the Paranormal Investigators of the First Coast, spending time with her German Shepherd, Luna, and her cat, Stella, or searching for her next favorite snack. Whether she's interviewing fascinating people, chasing a haunted legend, or making listeners laugh on their morning commute, Megan is always looking for the next great story.
