The Jax River Jams concert series kicks off tonight at the site of the former Jacksonville Landing, now called Riverfront Plaza. Chase Rice will be performing. It's his first concert with his full band since the pandemic started.
Here are a few things to know before you go:
- The concert is free but parking may not be. If you can find it, street parking is free after 5 or 6, I don't know which. One site says it's free after 5:00 but another said after 6:00. At any rate, parking in a garage will cost you and with the demolition of the Landing, that parking garage is now gone, so there are less places to park than before. So, bring some patience as welL.
- You will also need money for food and beverage. There will be food trucks there and adult beverages will be sold. The bars are CREDIT ONLY. There will be four bars on site. Bring an ID & you will get a wristband. Drinks must stay in the event area.
- Bring a mask. When you can't socially distance, you will be required to wear a mask.
- Site opens at 5:00. Firewater Tent Revival plays at 6:00. Chase Rice goes on at 7:30. Approximate end time is 9:00.
