The House Public Integrity and Elections Committee this week unanimously approved a bill to make strawberry shortcake the official dessert of Florida.
Strawberries are an integral industry to Plant City, Florida. The Plant City area has 100,000 acres of strawberry fields that produce 75% of our nation's winter strawberry crop.
Strawberry shortcake and key lime pie.... I say Florida can't go wrong with these official state choices.
