We're getting a new cruise ship, Jacksonville. Well, ok, it's not exactly new but it's newer than the current ship we have.
Carnival Cruise Line is swapping out the current ship we have, the Carnival Ecstasy, for a ship out of Australia.
Ecstasy is moving to Mobile, Alabama, and the Carnival Spirit is coming all the way from Brisbane, Australia, to here. It will have the same itinerary as the Ecstasy. The Spirit is 10 years younger than the Ecstasy. The Ecstasy was put into service in 1991 and the Spirit's inaugural cruise was 2001.
The plan is for the Spirit to start cruising out of Jax on March 7th.
