Proctor and Gamble Claimed Women's Feet Are Five Times Stinkier Than Men's

Proctor and Gamble is in hot water for running an ad in China that claimed women's feet are five times more stinky than men's. P&G, you've been in this advertising game for a long dang time. Shouldn't you at least make your claims believable? It is one of the certainties of life: death, taxes, men's feet stink worse than women's. They were trying to sell a body cleansing kit for women. So they made a chart about how stinky women's feet are and trying to guilt them into buying it. It ran on social media and encouraged people to do a smell test if they don't believe it.

Of course, there's no proof women's feet actually smell more, and definitely not five times more. They were trying to say women have more bacteria on their feet, hence.... Hence nothing, it's sweat that causes stink and men sweat a lot more than women on average.

People in China called out Procter & Gamble for being sexist, and threatened to boycott their products. So they pulled the ad and issued an apology, saying it was inappropriate. They also said they're overhauling how their social media ads are done. Their full apology here
