Need something different to do this weekend? Well, you can take a drive down 95, for about 2 1/2 hours, exit at Cocoa Beach and go to the dog surfing festival they're having this Sunday. I'm completely serious. The 10th annual Brevard Humane Society East Coast Dog Surfing Festival. Dogs. Surfing. Festival. What's not to love?
The event is a fundraiser for the Brevard Humane Society and will be on Easter Sunday at Lori Wilson Park. It's free but donations for parking will be $10, which also goes to the organization.
Online registration is closed but f you have a surfing dog and he or she wants to show off their skills on Sunday, there will be on-site registration. It's $25 to enter. This year’s contest has $500 up for grabs in prizes, with the main dog surfing event set for noon to 1 p.m.
